Standing Trial

This morning the men explored a Christian’s approach to preparing for - and dealing with - trials in our lives. After reflecting on the Scriptures, the men discussed concepts that are unique to how Christians view trials…concepts such as “gift”, “all joy” and “with faith”. Prayer, being in community, and praising God were some of the tools mentioned for enduring times of difficulty.  Some of the men also shared personal trials they've experienced.

Additional Scripture reflections

“My child, when you come to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for trials.” (Sir 2:1)

“In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Pet 1:6-7)

“the Lord knows how to rescue the devout from trial” (2 Pet 2:9)

“God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it.” (1 Cor 10:13)
