Fellowship Meetings
This morning Jack continued our discussion on the bible, with a focus on Genesis. We looked at the importance of Man being created in the image of God, and looked at the "fall" and what that meant for the rest of humanity. But even at the time of the "fall", God still loved us and wanted to show us mercy...which carries through to today.

Wonderful teaser into a larger discussion on the Bible. Today we got our brains going on what we remember about the history of the Bible, and we primed ourselves for further discussions in the months ahead.
It was a well-attended meeting, and so great to see some long-time returning faces, as well as a few brand new ones.

Today was a very special edition of our monthly Fellowship Breakfast. We were joined by our brothers from St. Louise, Sacred Heart, and St. Christopher. We also enjoyed a wonderful talk given by Mike Haddock, the president of CMF. Mike challenged us to look interiorly and ask ourselves if we are "in the fight", or if we are living our lives as "non-combatants" with regards to our walk with Christ. Today we discussed the concept of Suffering: where it comes from (Original Sin), what it is (test/trial designed by God), and the reason for it (to help us learn to depend on God for everything in our lives). Today we shared different Lenten practices that worked for the guys. Some participated in the "Best Lent Ever" series by Dynamic Catholic. Other men fed the hungry with their families; and others worked on themselves - trying to make themselves better people. The reflection question was "Are you a better man now that Lent is over, than you were when Lent began?"

Very well-attended meeting this morning, especially considering the Religious Congress happening in Anaheim. Today Jack continued the discussion on Spiritual Gifts, with the focus on how to put your Gifts "to work" once you know what they are.

For today's meeting we discussed in detail how we are all blessed with Spiritual Gifts. Mike and Jack gave a presentation on how our Gifts are used to benefit ourselves and others. Prior to the meeting, the men were given copies of the Catholic Spiritual Gifts inventory - a 120-question examination that helps discern your own Spiritual Gifts, and then the results were revealed to the men at the end of the meeting.

This morning we actually held our Fellowship meeting in the courtyard and had "Breakfast With Mary" (since Room A was not available). Mike and Jack gave a discussion on Prayer. They focused on the importance of prayer in our daily lives, and gave examples of different ways to pray (there's much more than simply kneeling and reciting the Lord's Prayer - not that there's anything wrong with that).
Following our Breakfast, we all went over to Potthoff Hall to decorate the CMF Christmas Tree. This year's theme was "The Perfect Tailgate Party".
